This is one of the most entertaining romcoms I’ve ever read. The main character Mallory is a 35-yr old who’s in the middle of a messy divorce because of a cheating and manipulative husband who she supported from law school up to when they built his own practice in the city. She comes home to her hometown after her late hoarder aunt leaves her her big expensive house that she has to fix and clean because of the piling HOA notices. She spent her whole working life as the manager of her husband’s practice so she’s now jobless with little money. She couldn’t even afford the already well-discounted bid from a contractor. She then meets her neighbor Nick, a lawyer, who helps her in a lot of ways but she’s not used to this kind of treatment.
I love the entire story and the conversations between the characters. The storyline flowed smoothly and the character building was well-written. It’s funny, relatable, cheesy, steamy, and full of drama. It definitely made me smile and to all people out there who are being mistreated by their partners— you definitely deserve better.
